After the 1959 Revolution in Cuba, some farmers emigrated to the Dominican Republic, taking with them the seeds and the art of cultivation and care of the "Cuban Black Tobacco", whose species is divided in 2 main families: Criollo and Corojo . From these 2 families of Tabani Cubani, many of the successive hybridizations were born also used today for the manufacture of Cuban cigars such as: the Criollo 98, the Corojo 99, the Habana 92 and the Habana 2000. The Piloto Cubano takes its name from the Cuban city of origin, Pilotos in the region of Pinar del Rio, landed in the Dominican Republic in 1960, where the ideal soil and climatic conditions are found for the cultivation of this "progenitor" of the Havanensis family cultivated outside the land of origin. The Cuban piloto belongs to the dark air-cured class. The tobaccos of this class are used for the manufacture of cigars, treated with air and subjected to fermentation, after which the leaves obtain a decidedly dark color and very marked aromatic characteristics. The Pilano Cubano we selected is a Sun-Grown-Griller, or a sun-grown tobacco used as a filler in the manufacture of cigars. The peculiarity of this tobacco, found by our company also in other cigar tobaccos, is that, despite the strength and body that are smoked in the traditional way, in the vape of the Pilano Cubano extract, belonging to Our Elite line, it is smooth. and enveloping, and will be an exceptional vape companion for lovers and lovers of Cuban cigars.
